I am a blue collar single mom who doesn't have a whole lot of time to dedicate to blogging, but I enjoy writing, and taking pictures. I am an American by birth, a Christian by God's grace.

What's up?

In my life this (past) week…
I have had sad moments and happy moments.... sad over changes with friends and loved ones, far beyond my control; happy for changes in my own life, that with prayer and God's help, are in my control.

In our homeschool this week…
Bub has started tutoring in Spanish with one of the local Spanish speaking sisters....he's only went once so far, but I'm expecting good things!

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Your kids can do more than they want you to think they can!

I am inspired by…
His Faithfulness...

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing...
Going to my dad's this weekend to do some techie stuff with his printer/computer. (I'm not a techie by trade or knowledge, but I can tinker enough to help my dad!)

My favorite thing this week was…
Weighing in yesterday and seeing another loss.  I'm only 10 lbs down in 3 weeks, and I wish it would just melt away....I am reminded it didn't pack on over night, nor will it slough off over night.

What’s working/not working for us…
Counting calories is working for us!  Having an onsite gym at our apartment complex is working for us!

Questions/thoughts I have…
Puzzled and saddened by the stubbornness and hardheartedness of friends who have turned their backs on this glorious Message of Grace....It is frustrating to hear them have the audacity to claim that they have the answers and a vindicated Prophet of God didn't.  Seriously - I see no vindication of anything in the lives of these "fall-away-ers" that would convince me to try anything they are trying to sell, because it appears from everything I see and hear all they try to sell is sour grapes - their sole mission being to tear down another man's ministry.  What is attractive or Christ-like about that? (Stepping down from soap box now.)

I’m reading…
A Mount Vernon Love Story, by Mary Higgins Clark.  It is the semi-biographical story of George and Martha Washington.  Really a great story.

I’m cooking…
Not too much since I'm calorie counting these days....mostly simple things like Lean Cuisine, Tuna fish, or salads are on my menu lately.

I’m grateful for…
My job, that I love. The opportunity to work from home. Being able to homeschool my son. I  feel very blessed!  Daily strength that He gives is priceless!

I’m praying for...
So many things.... Friends who are confused and who have "reasoned" the Gospel in the same way Eve reasoned way back when - they call it using their minds, but they have been tricked by the same devil that tricked Eve all those years ago. It burdens me greatly. Praying for friends who are hurting, and praying for loved ones and family members who need salvation - praying for wisdom to know how to help them.

Things I love...
Getting on the scales and seeing those numbers go down down down!  There is a saying I heard that says "nothing tastes as good as thin feels".  I want to own that one!
